LERA's Northeast Ohio Chapter was established in December 1972 as a chapter of IRRA (the Industrial Relations Research Association) to provide a forum for management, labor, and neutrals to explore all aspects of labor and employment relations in an atmosphere of cooperation and academic inquiry and to promote exchanges among labor and employment relations practitioners seeking a favorable climate for labor-management relations.  In 2006 it merged with PSLRA (the Public Sector Labor Relations Association) to serve those in both the public and private sectors.

About

We are the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association.

This chapter was established in December 1972 as part of the Industrial Relations Research Association (IRRA) to provide a forum for management, labor and neutrals to explore all aspects of labor and employment relations in an atmosphere of cooperation and academic inquiry and to promote exchanges among labor and employment relations practitioners seeking a favorable climate for labor-management relations.  In 2006 it merged with the Public Sector Labor Relations Association (PSLRA) to serve those in both the public and private sectors.

Membership is on a fiscal year basis (May through April) and is open to anyone interested or active in the field of labor-management relations.  Our members include professionals from academia, labor, management, government, the community of arbitrators, and students preparing to become professionals.  We welcome new members.

Programs and Activities
Meetings are generally held in the evenings from September through May, recently at the Holiday Inn Cleveland South, located in Independence.  Guest speakers come from the regional and national labor and employment relations community.  These meetings provide useful information concerning contemporary topics and a relaxed forum for labor, management and neutrals to exchange ideas, discuss issues and further business relationships.  Notices of upcoming meetings are posted on the web page and circulated by email
